Community Day at Thomas Pain Cottage Museum

Saturday, September 16, 2017

The Thomas Paine Cottage Museum will be hosting a special Community Day event to open a new exhibit to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the First World War and its impact on the City of New Rochelle.

The exhibit will display original articles of uniforms, photographs, and letters of New Rochelle men who served in the Great War.  It will also recognize the efforts put out by the men, women and children of the City of New Rochelle to support the war and the men who served. Also planned will be patriotic arts and crafts for children to make with the help of Boy Scouts, a re-created World War I soldier, known as a "Doughboy" to demonstrate  aspects of a soldier's life and a special guest speaker who will talk about new Rochelle's role during the "war to end all wars".   It should be a great day of fun and learning while commemorating those who served. Light refreshments will be for sale.
