1. How do I obtain a birth certificate?

To obtain a birth certificate:

• The person applying must have been born in the City of New Rochelle


• The birth certificate must be for the applicant or their child
  
• Parent names must be on birth certificate


• Step parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents can not obtain birth certificates unless they have  court order guardianship papers


• The person applying must have an official current ID, such as a driver's license / non-driver's license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, passport, or two current utility bills

2. How do I obtain a marriage license?

To obtain a marriage license:

• You must have a valid photo ID and birth certificate


• If this is not your first marriage, you must bring in a certified copy or copies of divorce papers or civil annulment for all previous marriages.


• Your marriage must take place in New York State and within 60 days of obtaining your marriage license. There is also a 24-hour waiting period after obtaining a Marriage license.

3. How do I obtain parking permits for municipal parking lots or garages?

If there are open spaces at the desired lot, the City Clerk will review fees with you, such as area resident and business / commuter fees. To obtain the official status of "area resident," you must prove your residence with a copy of your lease, utility bill, and a tax bill.

If no spaces are available, the City Clerk will give you information on the procedure for adding your name to the wait list for the desired lot.

4. How long will it take to receive a marriage transcipt through the mail?

Marriage transcripts go in the mail the same that we received it.
