Branches
up to four feet long and up to three inches in diameter,
along with leaves, grass clippings, and brush will be
removed as part of this service.
Larger
branches must be tied together. Smaller branches should
also be bundled, tied and stacked at curbside. Yard
waste should not be put in the street. Grass clippings,
leaves and other yard waste can be placed either in
standard garbage cans or biodegradable paper bags. No
container should weigh more than 75 pounds.
Yard
waste placed in plastic garbage bags will not be picked
up. A sticker will be placed on plastic bags containing
yard debris, directing the property owner to remove
the bags from the curb. Failure to remove the bags could
result in the issuance of a summons.
This
recycling service was introduced by the City's Public
Works Department to help keep neighborhood yards clean,
help reduce the amount of yard waste entering the City's
solid waste stream, and help protect the environment.
