Local Housing Opportunities
Affordable Housing is a national issue and to address local concerns, the City of New Rochelle is working with New York State, Westchester County, Building Developers and Management Companies, and has partnered with local Nonprofits and Residents to find ways to provide affordable housing solutions and assistance for all New Rochelle residents. Application Assistance and other types of housing assistance will be available shortly. Keep an eye out for more information on additional resources and upcoming affordable housing opportunities.

Hope Not Handcuffs | Hope Not Handcuffs is an initiative launched by Families Against Narcotics (FAN) in 2017. The program is a collaborative effort between FAN, law enforcement, and community organizations to find viable treatment options for individuals seeking help to reduce their dependence on prescription medication, alcohol, heroin, or other drugs. It is a solution. A person struggling with any substance use disorder can find help in 3 ways: Call (833)428-HOPE and speak to one of our recovery specialists. Walk-in any participating police department and ask for help. You will be greeted with support, compassion, and respect. Complete our online form and we will contact you as soon as possible. |
Hudson Valley Community Services (HVCS) | HVCS joined a new statewide effort to link people who have survived an opioid overdose with local recovery, treatment and support resources. Their role is to pave the way for immediate referral uptake among providers, to funnel more people to the treatment they need to free themselves or reduce the harm of substance use. While many of our services still focus on people living with HIV/AIDS, we offer an increasing range of programs to address other health issues. HVCS’ drug treatment program, Project ReachOut (PRO), works to facilitate the entry of people who use drugs into drug treatment services. We also have two van-based drug prevention programs, including the region’s only syringe exchange program. |
Mental Health Association of Westchester | The mission of The Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) is to promote mental health through advocacy, community education and direct services. MHA facilitates recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making and collaborative work. Drug Crisis in Our Backyard promotes awareness about drug use, assist addicted and at-risk individuals and their families, and implement measures, including legislation, that holds accountable organizations and medical institutions that perpetuate drug use through over-prescription of opiates and other drugs. |
The Harris Project | The Harris project is committed to advancing prevention programming, and advocates for the implementation of integrated treatment opportunities to improve the lives of teens and young adults diagnosed with co-occurring disorders (COD). |
National Council for Alcoholism and Drug Dependence - Westchester (NCADD) | The mission of NCADD is to provide information, education, intervention and referrals while educating the public regarding the disease of substance use disorders. NCADD’s services include a recovery coach academy, family information sessions, support groups and educational programming. |
Student Assistance Services | Student Assistance Services (SAS) is a non-profit substance abuse prevention agency providing alcohol, nicotine, vaping, and other drug prevention and problem gambling prevention services. The combination of services are provided to accomplish the following goals: l. prevent substance use and social and emotional problems among students 2. reduce the incidence of substance use and social emotional problems among students 3. improve school performance and attitudes toward school and support social emotional skill development |
Westchester Coalition for Drug & Alcohol-Free Youth | The Westchester County Coalition for Drug and Alcohol-Free Youth represents anti-drug coalitions throughout Westchester. These coalitions work to reduce underage drinking and other drug use and to promote positive youth development. |
