Thank you for your interest. New Rochelle Residents 14 to 24 Only. Upon the submission of all required documents, each applicant will be interviewed after the application deadline. All information is confidential.
Applicants ages 18-24 assigned to youth programs (camps, middle school, etc..) will be required to complete a civil service application, adhere to a drug screening, clear New York Department of Criminal Justice System Sex Offender Registry, and any additional criminal and employment background checks deemed applicable per the NY State Comptroller’s office as well as the Westchester County Health Department. This process will be implemented upon job offer and program placement.

- Learn & Earns (Ages 14-18)
- Data Entry
- Camp counselors (ages 16+)

Program Descriptions

Summer Youth Employment Program:
This program provides youth ages 14 - 24, with job readiness skills training and actual work experience. The program operates for six (6) weeks during June and August. Payments in the amount of $300.00 per week are based on twenty (20) hours a week of program participation. Percentage of program participants must meet income eligibility guidelines % of the program participants are not required to meet any income guidelines.
Potential Candidates Internship Program:
- This program will employ youth ages 18 - 24 with specific internships to assigned Governmental Departments or local Community-Based Agencies/Programs. Funded in part by the New York State Office of Children & Family Service and contingent upon current State funding.
*NEW* Access Equestrian Employment Program:
- This program provides youth with special needs ages 14 - 21 with job readiness skills training and actual work experience. No Income eligibility is required.
Learn & Earn Initiatives
Youth between the ages of 14 – 18 can learn about potential career opportunities. Proof of income is required. The Youth Bureau is offering various Learn & Earn Programs in the following career areas:
- NRYB Girls on Fire: Firefighter Program
- Future CEOs: Entrepreneurship Program
- Mentors in Blue: Police Academy Program
- Ecology Ambassadors Program
TANF Summer Youth Employment Program:
It is the intention of the Youth Bureau to establish the TANF Summer Youth Employment Program (contingent upon funding) for income-eligible youth 14 – 20. This program is supported by the Westchester/Putnam Local Workforce Investment Board. The program will operate for six (6) weeks. Rate of pay is $15.00 per hour, 25 hours per week. All youth must meet TANF income guidelines and submit all program-required documents to be considered. Please see attached income guidelines
