Civil Service

Civil Service administers and oversees Civil Service examinations, and compiles eligibility lists for employment and promotion for the City of New Rochelle, the City School District, the Public Library and the Municipal Housing Authority.


The primary functions of the Personnel Department are collective bargaining with the City's seven employee unions, conducting labor and employment relations, administering compensation and benefits plans, recruiting and retaining the highest caliber of personnel possible, and increasing operational efficiency.
