Marriage Licenses

To obtain a Marriage License, please call the City Clerk’s Office at (914) 654-2159 to make an appointment.

Marriage Licenses will be issued to Westchester County residents only. 
 

General Information


The license is only valid in the State of New York.  There is a 24-hour waiting period before you can use the license, and the license must be used within 60 days.  
 

When applying for the license both the Bride/Groom/Spouse must be present. 

Two forms of your ID is required: 

  1. Current photo ID of a U.S. Driver's License, U.S. Non-driver's photo ID (issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles), or Passport. 
  2. Certified Long Form Birth Certificate ( showing parents' information)
  • If either or both parties were previously married, you must also have your certified judgment of divorce from the court system where the divorce was granted.
  • Should the previous marriage have ended due to the death of your spouse, you must have the certified death certificate.

Note: All documents must be in English If any document is not in English, you must have it translated by one of our authorized translators or the Consulate of your country.  A certified copy is one that has a raised seal of the jurisdiction or granting authority.

The fee for a marriage license is $40 and is payable by cash, credit card or money order.
