Zoom presentation: How to research the history of your New Rochelle house
Saturday, January 29, 2022
Join this zoom presentation to find out how to uncover your home's unique history.
New Rochelle has an abundance of older homes, as it experienced tremendous growth from the 1880s – 1930s, and then again post-WWII. Whether it has origins in the 18th or a mid-century dazzler, your house has its own unique history. When was it built? Who lived here and what did they do” What is original and what was added on? The answers may be revealed with a bit of sleuthing! This workshop will walk you through the steps using on-line and in-person resources at NRPL, the Westchester County Historical Society and the County Archives, and City Hall.
Led by Barbara Davis, New Rochelle City Historian and Co-Director, Westchester County Historical Society and Larry Sheldon, New Rochelle Public Library Adult Services and Local History Librarian.
