The current exhibit at the New Rochelle Council on the Arts Rotunda Gallery @ City Hall is "Up Jumped Spring & Other Weather Conditions." The title is inspired by the iconic Jazz standard written by composer and trumpet player Freddie Hubbard. The exhibit focuses on the impact of Global Warming and the extremes in environmental conditions occurring as a result of climactic changes. Themes of rejuvenation, rebirth and renewal are also represented in the works. The artists exhibiting in the show are from: New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Mt. Vernon, City Island, the Bronx, Elmsford, Forest Hills, White Plains, Mohegan Lake, Katonah and Larchmont. The exhibit begins June 12 and runs through July 31, the opening reception is Tuesday, June 13 from 5pm - 7m. The NRCA Rotunda Gallery is located in City Hall, 515 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY. 10801 and is wheelchair accessible. Gallery hours are weekdays from 10am to 4pm.
