A rainy day couldn’t dampen the spirits on Main Street as hundreds streamed downtown for the New Rochelle Street Fair on Sunday, September 9th. Fairgoers enjoyed a variety of artisans, crafters, international cuisine, inflatable rides for children, live performances, a Beer Garden hosted by Sage Café, and a special appearance by SpongeBob SquarePants.
“Despite the inclement weather, crowds arrived, music filled the air, dancers performed and there were lots of smiling faces all around,” said Parks and Recreation Commissioner and Event Organizer Bill Zimmermann.
City officials along with the Street Fair committee and volunteers joined Mayor Noam Bramson and sponsors for the traditional ribbon cutting and kick-off on Memorial Plaza.
The Street Fair was presented by returning Queen City Sponsor and master developer RXR Realty, in partnership with the City of New Rochelle, New Rochelle Parks & Recreation, New Rochelle Downtown BID, the Chamber of Commerce, and Volunteer NY!.The event was also made possible through the generous sponsorships of MacQuesten Development, Watermarkpointe, Empire City Casino, Barksdale Home Care Services, Montefiore New Rochelle, Julia B Fee Sotheby’s International Realty, News 12 and WVOX.
