[ARCHIVED] Nov. 1 is New Rochelle Cares-Aging in Place Appreciation Day

Mayor Noam Bramson will proclaim November 1, 2018 as New Rochelle Cares AIP (Aging-in-Place) Appreciation Day in New Rochelle.  In honor of the day, the organization will hold a reception in the rotunda of New Rochelle City Hall, 515 North Avenue, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM to better inform the community of its existence and mission, particularly residents aged 60 and over.  In addition to the presentation of the proclamation, Sing Your Heart Out, a community choir of seniors, will perform and there will be light refreshments.

New Rochelle Cares AIP is a not-for-profit, volunteer run membership organization.  It is dedicated to giving New Rochelle residents 60 and over the support they need to remain in their own homes as they age, while remaining connected to the community.   The primary needs served are transportation and socialization.  Since its launch in November of 2015, they have provided over 1050 rides to its members and put on a wide variety of educational and social programs.  It is their goal to provide services to at least 200 of New Rochelle’s nearly 20,000 seniors.
