[ARCHIVED] Youth Bureau Seeks Youth Volunteers for Board of Commissioners

The City of New Rochelle is recruiting qualified youth residents (currently in 9th – 10th grades) to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the New Rochelle Youth Board. There are several vacancies open at this time.

“Joining the Board is a great way for youth residents – especially those who have an interest in youth issues and community services – to step forward and provide leadership and creative suggestions for our City’s youth population,” said City Manager Charles Strome.

The Board of Commissioners is comprised of twenty-one (21) volunteer members who meet regularly at City Hall on the fourth Tuesday of every month.   The Board continually strives to meet the challenging needs and concerns of the City’s youth population, up through twenty-one (21) years old.

“Our Board of Commissioners serves as a community model whereby adults and youth lend their voices to the collective advocacy for youth services and youth programs that improve the quality of life for our youth residents” said Kelly Johnson, Youth Bureau Director.

Interested candidates must be New Rochelle residents.  Applications are available on line and can be obtained in the Youth Bureau office located in City Hall, 515 North Avenue.  For further information please call Mr. Kelly Johnson at (914) 654-2045, Monday – Friday, 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
