Help Shape The Future Of Hudson Park!

You are invited to share ideas for Hudson Park’s new Master Plan for 2020!

The City of New Rochelle’s Department of Parks and Recreation is in the process of creating a comprehensive master plan for Hudson Park, the City’s premier waterfront open space. In conjunction with Stantec consultants, the department is conducting site research and analysis as well as public outreach.

The first public meeting, held November 12 at City Hall, brought dozens who shared their thoughts on improvements with the architects and design team. In January, an online survey in English and Spanish featured questions on upgrades needed and space utilization to further refine priorities.

Survey results can be reviewed here:

The next public meeting will be held on January 30 at 6:30 PM at the New Rochelle Public Library.

Our parks are vital components of the City’s infrastructure. They provide space for recreation, exercise, social interaction, and quiet enjoyments as well as critical wildlife and wetland environments for neighborhoods. The City of New Rochelle has a diverse park system and remarkable waterfront. However, a renewed focus on upgrades, efficiency and higher utilization of park space is needed to best serve residents for the future. This is a wonderful opportunity for New Rochelle residents to share their opinions and help shape the future of historic Hudson Park.

Hudson Park and Beach are located at the south end of New Rochelle on Hudson Park Road. It features a grassy recreation area with a playground, a music bandshell, seating area, newly renovated bathhouse and two bathing beaches. It is home to and a popular viewing destination for the New Rochelle Council on the Arts’ Summer Sounds Concerts, Memorial Day Events, July 4th Fireworks, the Lighted Boat Parade and the Snapper Fishing
