[ARCHIVED] March 18 Public Health Update

This is Mayor Noam Bramson, with a public health update for March 18th.

We continue urging all residents to stay home to the greatest degree possible and keep interactions with others to a bare minimum.  Social distancing is effective in slowing the spread of the virus, so let’s each do our part, especially to protect our most vulnerable residents.

As you know, restaurants are now closed for dine-in service throughout New York State.  However, we can still support our local restaurant community by ordering takeout or delivery, and by buying gift cards for future use.

Westchester County has issued a call for retired or currently non-working nurses to assist with public health needs.  Those interested in serving in this capacity should contact Lindsay Jackson at lajc@westchestergov.com.

As previously reported:

City Hall is now closed to the public, but all essential municipal services, including sanitation, will be maintained.  Some City departments can still be reached by phone and many services can be accessed online.

Testing for coronavirus continues to ramp up.  To request a test, call the State hotline at 888-364-3065.

And if any business refuses to deliver to your home in New Rochelle, please contact the Westchester County Consumer Protection Department by calling 914-995-2155 or sending an email to conpro@westchestergov.com.

There is additional information at newrochelleny.com/coronavirus, and more updates will follow as needed.

Let’s all continue staying informed, engaged, and responsible, so that our community can meet this challenge together.

Thank you for listening.
