[ARCHIVED] April 10 Update

City Update_graphic

Robocall sent Friday, April 10:

The City of New Rochelle continues reminding all residents that physical distancing is essential to saving lives.  Our good work so far has slowed the spread of the virus, and we need to keep it up by staying home as much as possible, avoiding all non-essential gatherings, including holiday gatherings, and remaining at least six feet apart when in public.

These restrictions will be enforced.  To report non-essential social gatherings, please contact the New Rochelle Police at 654-2300, and to report business violations, please call the State’s Task Force at 1-833-789-0470.

Recognizing that small businesses have been hard hit during this outbreak, resources are available on the City’s website newrochelleny.com/business.  All businesses are encouraged to review the federal relief programs made available through the CARES Act.

When disposing of gloves, masks or other protective equipment, please use standard trash receptacles or bags, and don’t just discard waste on the side of the road.  It’s up to all of us to keep New Rochelle safe and beautiful.

Tonight at 7:00pm – and every Friday at 7:00pm – we encourage all residents once again to “Clap Because We Care.”  Please stand outside your house or open your window and make some noise in support of health care workers and essential service providers.

Finally, with high winds yesterday and today and with the storm season now upon us, please remember to report power outages to Con Ed at 1-800-75-CONED or coned.com.  Report downed trees to the New Rochelle Police at 654-2300.  And always stay clear of downed power lines.

There’s more information at newrochelleny.com/coronavirus.

Thank you for listening.  To those who celebrate, we wish you a Happy Easter and a Happy Passover.  And let’s together stay strong and united.
