Robocall, sent at 2PM:
This is Mayor Noam Bramson, with an update for April 16.
Para español, oprima número uno.
Here’s what’s new.
Starting tomorrow, at the State’s direction, face coverings must be worn in any public setting where physical distancing is impossible. Scarves, bandannas, or cloth masks are all adequate for this purpose – you don’t need a surgical mask. For guidance on how to make your own mask, visit newrochelleny.com/coronavirus and click on the link for the CDC in the lower right.
In addition, as the weather improves and we spend more time outdoors, let’s be extra-careful about our own safety and the safety of our children. With hospitals at their capacity treating COVID patients, this is the worst possible moment to end up in the emergency room because of an avoidable accident. So, for example, be sure to wear a helmet when bicycling.
The City has launched a new webpage with information about community and volunteer services to which you can contribute or from which you can benefit. Visit newrochelleny.com/newrostrong to learn more.
And remember that even with local library buildings closed, your Library card is still a great resource to download books, movies, music, and educational programs. Visit nrpl.org for all the options.
Now to repeat some information from prior updates:
To report non-essential social gatherings, please contact the New Rochelle Police at 654-2300, and to report business violations, please call the State’s Task Force at 1-833-789-0470.
Finally, tomorrow at 7:00pm – and every Friday at 7:00pm – please stand outside your house or open your window and make some noise in gratitude for health care workers, essential service providers, and everyone on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.
As always, there’s more information at newrochelleny.com/coronavirus.
Thank you for listening. Let’s stay New Ro Strong.
