New Rochellean Kristen Marx connected with Shiloh Senior Living Center last year in her capacity as a meditation teacher. Knowing that the senior residents were staying home to stay healthy, Kristen reached out to her friends and neighbors in New Rochells and raised $1800. Supporting a local restaurant favorite AJ’s, Kristen coordinated purchasing meals from AJ’s for the seniors to help them through this challenging time.

In his thank you note to Kristen and friends, AJ noted, “Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be part of bringing meals to Shiloh Senior Living Center. It gave us great happiness to make the meals super special. And how wonderful that you exceeded your original goal, and provided four meals! Elders are always are a big deal at AJ’s, and they are so especially vulnerable right now, this was the perfect way to let them know how much we care.”

Lynda Zezze from Westhab, which manages the Shiloh Senior Living Center, shared that the final meal was a “feast,” and “I cannot begin to tell you and your friends how grateful we are for your generosity and compassion to make this all happen.
