Unprecedented times requires unprecedented ingenuity. NewRo Cheers go out to Jacob Goodman, New Rochelle native and current mechanical engineering student at Binghamton University, who was challenged by a professor to come up with a solution for the ventilator shortage problem. Within the course of one weekend, Jacob had assembled a ventilator with parts he purchased and repurposed from Wal-Mart that included a lunchbox, a collapsible camping water bottle, and a silicone straw. Jacob shared his design online to get feedback and allow for further refinement of his prototype in hopes that it could potentially become market-worthy one day.
