While PAUSE restrictions remain in effect in our area, New Rochelle is looking ahead to reopening. Our city is part of the mid-Hudson region, which has so far met 5 of the State’s 7 reopening requirements and is making progress on the remaining 2. Keep in mind, however, that the opening process will occur on a phased, gradual basis, and many restrictions will remain in place as we proceed. The City will continue to provide updates at every important stage, and you can find detailed information at forward.ny.gov. Now, a reminder about prior messages: As the weather improves, many of us will want to spend time outdoors. So remember that face coverings are required in any public setting where physical distancing is impractical. Wearing a mask is how we protect each other and show respect for health care providers and essential workers. Please keep a mask with you and put it on as needed. More information on activities permitted in our parks is available on the City website. New Ro Strong lawn signs are here and can be proudly displayed on any property. To request your own free lawn sign, please visit newrochelleny.com/lawnsignform. Diagnostic tests for coronavirus are available on Lockwood Avenue, across from Montefiore Hospital, from Monday to Friday. Appointments are required, so to schedule a test, please call the State hotline at 1-888-364-3065. Finally, remember to clap or make some noise this evening at 7:00pm to honor everyone on the front line against COVID-19. For additional resources or to learn how you can help, donate, or volunteer, please visit newrochelleny.com/newrostrong. And for general information, visit newrochelleny.com/coronavirus. Thank you for reading. New Rochelle is making real progress, but still has more to do. Let’s keep up our good work and stand strong together.
