The New Rochelle Fire Department held their Promotion Ceremony yesterday at the Council Chambers in City Hall to appoint 12 members to new ranks. Fire Chief Andrew Sandor was joined by Mayor Noam Bramson, City Manager Chuck Strome, and FD Chaplin Father Michael Challinor. In compliance with social distancing guidelines, the ceremony was held virtually and live-streamed for families and friends to join in the celebration.
“Every Fire Department member being sworn up into a new rank today has a story – an important story. A story of tenacity and dedication, of sacrifice and service,” said Fire Chief Andrew Sandor. “We hope their stories will inspire our members to stay engaged and bring their ‘A’ game to work every day. The public, who honor us with their trust, deserve that.”
The promotions included Captains Philip Cicchiello and Martine Gotte to Deputy Chiefs. Lieutenants Joseph Sinatra, Mark Schoenherr, Michael Mcelroy and Brett Hendrie to Fire Captains. Firefighters Ryan Pascuzzi, Jarred McLean, Marc Swanson, Daniel Betker, William Laux and Carmine Mancuso to Fire Lieutenants.
