On October 31st at 7:35 a.m. New Rochelle Police Officers responded to a private residence on Locust Avenue to interview a victim of a past assault. This assault had occurred about 7:25 a.m. opposite 138 North Avenue. The victim, an adult female aged 53, had multiple lacerations to her head and face. She stated that while walking northbound on North Ave opposite #138, she was approached by an unknown short male approximately 35-40 Years of age wearing a grey sweatshirt. This male was mumbling and began to strike her repeatedly in the head and face until she fell to the ground. The victim was able to walk home and call the police. She was transported to New Rochelle Montefiore Hospital where she was treated for a concussion, multiple head lacerations and received 6 staples.
It should be noted that while checking the area for the suspect, it was determined that a second assault had occurred in the same area, but the victim, an adult Male/Hispanic left the area prior to the Police response.
Both of these assaults appeared to be random and violent in nature.
On November 1st at about 10:45 a.m. Yousef Alomari aged 34 of New Rochelle appeared at Police headquarters and surrendered for the above incident. He was booked for Assault 2nd and is awaiting arraignment.
