On November 9th at 12:57 p.m., New Rochelle Police Officers responded to the vicinity of Coligni Avenue and Mt. Joy Place on a report of a menacing with a handgun. Subsequent investigation revealed that a Silver Semi-Automatic Hand Gun had been displayed in a menacing manner and that the suspect had fled as a passenger in a Blue Jeep Suburban. The victims were an Adult and a Juvenile.
The suspect was stopped shortly thereafter in a taxicab in Mt Vernon, where he was arrested by Mt Vernon Police and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. A handgun was recovered by Mt Vernon Police at the time of arrest. He was also charged by New Rochelle Police with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Menacing 2nd Degree.
Due to “Raise the Age” laws, the 17-year-old suspect was charged as a Juvenile Delinquent, and will be adjudicated through Family Court.
