In remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the Department of Parks & Recreation has collaborated with the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle, New Rochelle Police Department, New Rochelle Fire Department, New Rochelle Youth Bureau, Municipal Housing Authority, and There's a Better Way to host the first annual Unity Day on Sunday, September 12 from 9am -1pm.

Unity Day is a gathering and celebration of elementary and middle school youth from every neighborhood in our City. Local community members, businesses, and organizations will bond through a variety of activities. The day will be split up into two parts and is geared for ages 8 to 13

Bikes & Badges, 9AM: Local youth will meet members of the New Rochelle Police Department – with their bikes & helmets - in front of City Hall for a fun bike ride to Flowers City Park. Parents are welcome to participate in the ride.

Youth Sports Celebration, 10AM: After the bike ride, a 2-hour sports clinic at Flowers City Park will feature soccer, lacrosse, flag football, Frisbee, basketball, baseball, softball as well as other team activities like kickball.

Unity Day will follow CDC safety guidelines. A signed waiver from a parent or guardian is required. For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at info@newrochelleny.com or call the New Rochelle Youth Bureau at (914) 654-2087.
