In remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the Department of Parks & Recreation has collaborated with the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle, New Rochelle Police Department, New Rochelle Youth Bureau, and Municipal Housing Authority to host the first annual Unity Day on Sunday, September 12 from 9am -1pm.
Unity Day is a gathering and celebration of elementary and middle school youth from every neighborhood in our City. Local community members, businesses, and organizations will bond through a variety of activities. The day will be split up into two parts and is geared for ages 8 to 13
Bikes & Badges, 9AM: Local youth will meet members of the New Rochelle Police Department – with their bikes & helmets - in front of City Hall for a fun bike ride to Flowers City Park. Parents are welcome to participate in the ride.
Youth Sports Celebration, 10AM: After the bike ride, a 2-hour sports clinic at Flowers City Park will feature soccer, lacrosse, flag football, Frisbee, basketball, baseball, softball as well as other team activities like kickball.
