Get ready for September! The New Rochelle Department of Parks and Recreation is preparing a number of signature events throughout the entire month:
Friday, September 3:
Spark the Sound Fireworks by Grucci
World-class fireworks will light up the sky over Long Island Sound on Friday evening, September 3rd at 9:30 PM. Best viewing at Hudson and Five Islands Park, and at waterfront restaurants.
Saturday, September 4:
Lighted Boat Parade
Dozens of boats will set sail at 8:30 PM from the New Rochelle Municipal Marina. Come and applaud as they journey from Hudson Park to Neptune Park. (Rain date September 5)
Sunday, September 12:
Kid’s Snapper Fishing Derby
at Hudson Park- 9AM
Unity Day
In remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The day kicks off with a BIKES & BADGES Youth Bike Ride from City Hall to City Park followed by a 2-hour sports clinic for children featuring soccer, lacrosse, flag football, Frisbee, basketball, baseball, softball and even activities like kickball. The day is targeted for kids ages 8-13, a waiver must be signed in advance.
Sunday, September 19:
The 6th Annual Art Figur Tour de Shore
will take place at 8:30 AM at Hudson Park.
New Rochelle Street Fair
The Eighth Annual New Rochelle Street Fair will be held on Sunday, September 19 from 11AM to 5PM surrounding New Rochelle City Hall. This popular event will feature vendors, crafters, live performances and a Beer Garden presented by AJ Burgers. All events will follow CDC’s safety guidelines.
