Energy efficiency upgrades, accomplished in large part through federal grants, will save the City $95,000 annually.
This $2.8 million project for City Hall and Police/Court Facility includes HVAC improvements, installation of internal storm windows, replacement of light fixtures and other low cost conservation measures.
Mayor Noam Bramson noted, “Like most of the recommendations in New Rochelle's Sustainability Plan, GreeNR, this project is about common-sense, environmental progress and savings for taxpayers. Thanks to the funds secured by Congresswoman Lowey, we can cut energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by more than 1/3, while significantly reducing our expenses. It's a win all around.”
