On August 25th, 2022, at about 12:41 AM, New Rochelle Police responded to Station Plaza South, between Memorial Highway and Division Street on a report of a stabbing and attempted robbery. The victim, a 41-year-old male New Rochelle resident, stated that he was walking on Station Plaza South when he was approached by two male blacks who tried to remove his wallet from his back pocket. The victim fought them off and was able to run away. The victim then stated he returned a short while later to the location in an attempt to retrieve property he dropped off during the original incident and was accosted again by the same suspects. While attempting to flee again, the one suspect stabbed him in his lower back before he was able to get away again. The injury was superficial, and the victim refused medical attention.
