Voluntary Firearms Surrender Initiative & Gun Safety Program

The City of New Rochelle Police Department’s goal is to provide a resource for New Rochelle residents so they can voluntarily surrender any unwanted firearms and ammunition for the purpose of destruction. In addition, to provide a Gun Safety Education Program for resident’s that wish to keep their legally owned firearms. 


The City of New Rochelle’s Police Department has partnered with Project ChildSafe, New York State Police and the Westchester County Police to provide a community led initiative designed to promote responsible gun ownership and safe storage of firearms when not in use. 

Gun locks & safety literature can be provided at no cost.
