NewRo Alert sent Monday, March 13:
A significant storm is forecast for our area, beginning with heavy rain overnight with precipitation continuing throughout tomorrow. Snow predictions are much less certain, running the range from none at all on the low end to as much as six inches on the high end. In either scenario, gusty winds Tuesday and Wednesday could bring down trees and power lines.
Public Works will have crews in place, ready to act if needed, but road conditions may be poor, so please plan accordingly and avoid unnecessary travel.
Before the storm, if possible, park cars off-street to make room for plows.
If you lose power, contact Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED or www.coned.com. Report downed trees and power lines to the New Rochelle Police at 654-2300.
After the storm, please clear sidewalks and fire hydrants adjacent to your property. And, when digging out cars, please do not throw snow back into the street.
