On June 1st, 2023, New Rochelle Detectives conducted a traffic stop thatculminated in the arrest of the driver for impersonating a Federal Agent and weaponspossession. New Rochelle Detectives had an open investigation on a person who wasalleged to have been in possession of a handgun and who had allegedly madecomments that he was a Federal Law Enforcement Officer. At about 1:15pm, NewRochelle Detectives observed the suspect driving and conducted a traffic stop. Duringthe traffic stop the suspect identified himself as a Federal Agent to the Detectives.Further investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession of a stolen handgunand Federal Law Enforcement badges.

ARRESTED:

Manrique Perez, 48 years of age, of New Rochelle, NY.

NYS Penal Law Section 190.26 Criminal Impersonation 1st Degree – E Felony

NYS Penal Law Section 265.03 Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree – C Felony

NYS Penal Law Section 165.45 Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree – E Felony
