This is the City of New Rochelle with a storm recovery update for Monday, October 2.
Our Public Works crews continue their work of clearing debris from roadways and drains. This week will follow a normal garbage and trash collection schedule. However, to assist those who have been impacted by last week’s flooding, DPW will be picking up construction and demolition debris, such as building materials and drywall over the next few weeks. Pickup will be made by appointment only and the deadline to register is Wednesday, October 18 by calling 914-235-4654 or completing the online form at newrochelleny.com/stormpickup. Debris will then be picked up on a rolling basis, as resources permit.
Construction and demolition debris is not ordinarily collected by the City and this exception is being made purely for storm-related damages and only on a temporary basis. If an appointment is not made by then the collection of construction and demolition debris will revert to a private responsibility, as usual. Please place construction and demolition debris separate from your household garbage.
As a reminder, the Buildings Department is available to offer guidance on safety and permitting at (914) 654-2035.
