Basic STAR Re-Registration Process (This does NOT pertain to the SENIOR Star exemption)
Basic STAR recipients are required to reapply in order to keep their exemption. The STAR Registration Program has begun and Basic STAR recipients can register starting October 1, 2013 on the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance Website (www.tax.ny.gov) or by calling at (518) 457-2036. The deadline to register is December 31, 2013.

The NYS Department of Taxation and Finance has staff ready to assist taxpayers in their call center at (518) 457-2036 during the following extended hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
