On April 3, 2016, at approximately 3:24 am, the New Rochelle Police Department received multiple calls of gunshots in the area of Lincoln Park. Upon arrival officers observed a male victim, lying on the ground inside the park, bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers immediately began first aid, and an ambulance was dispatched. Upon arrival at the scene, the ambulance personnel declared the victim deceased. The Department’s General Investigations Unit and Forensic Unit personnel are currently investigating the incident as a homicide. The victim has not been positively identified at this time, and his identity will not be released until it has been confirmed and notification to his family has been made.
